raffic Problems

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
The Baron began to wonder if the invention of the automobile was such a good idea since it was causing traffic problems. The Baron commented that almost every week there was a serious problem in Lilliland involving the automobile.
Tourists liked to bring their automobiles with them as they toured the continent. The British drove on one side of the street and the French on the other side. Sometimes the drivers would forget what country they were in and drove they way they would back in their home countries.
The Baron really couldn’t solve the problem himself, so he called in his chief advisor, Professor Hamblin. After a careful review of the problem, it was decided to post signs to remind the driver that he was driving in Lilliland and to be very careful.
Unfortunately, the road signs did not seem to work because of a language complication and people were not used to seeing the signs. So, Professor Hamblin decided to take another look at the problem.
The Professor could not really come up with a solution and the traffic problem would not resolve itself.
Finally, the Baron and Lady Angela decided to drive around Lilliland and pretend they were tourists visiting for the first time. What could be done to make their driving experience and visit more enjoyable and safer?
Both the Baron and Lady Angela enjoyed the drive but could not come up with anything new.
Finally, a few days later, Lady Angela thought that one solution might be to make all the streets one-way. The one-way plan made everything equal and easy for all citizens and visitors.
The Baron and the Professor thought it was a very sensible idea and when it was put into place everyone approved, and traffic problems quickly disappeared.
