s That Tabitha?
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
It is not uncommon for celebrities to visit Lilliland for some skiing, sailing, hiking or just to absorb the scenery.
Tabitha was just such a celebrity from the French films. While her films were known worldwide she cherished her solitude and wanted to lead a private personal life.
No matter where she would go, adoring fans would run after her to request an autograph or just to touch her. To have some sort of privacy in her personal life, she would go to great lengths to disguise herself. She would dress and wear makeup to look the opposite of her latest picture. The deception seemed to work most of the time.
When she arrived at the Lilliland Hotel, she registered under an assumed name and arrived with different traveling companions.
Once while staying at the hotel, another woman who resembled Tabitha, was staying there at the same time and was surrounded by fans only to have the management tell them they had made a mistake.
It became so bothersome that the hotel manager asked the real Tabitha to please come forward and meet her fans so that the other woman would not have her stay in Lilliland interrupted so often.
Tabitha agreed to come forward and meet with her fans in the hotel ballroom for a short interview. She would sign autographs and pose for some pictures and that would be it.
The meeting in the ballroom went well but some of her fans that missed the scheduled interview began to wander around the halls of the hotel looking for Tabitha’s suite of rooms.
Finally, for the last three days of Tabitha’s visit to Lilliland, she was invited to be a guest of Lady Angela’s at Alpine Castle. Tabitha told Lady Angela that being a film star with adoring fans does have its trying moments.
After Tabitha left Lilliland, Lady Angela was speaking with the Baron and said that being in films would not be her cup of tea. The Baron agreed with Lady Angela. Peace and privacy are very precious in everyone’s life.
