ewelers of Lilliland

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

There were many very fine artists and jewelers in Lilliland. These world-renowned jewelers usually liked to work with gold.

People traveled to Lilliland not just to enjoy the beautiful scenic Castle Lake and the majestic snow capped Alpine Mountains, but to visit the many jewelry shops. The pieces that were most in demand were the woven rings of gold. The woven rings were very beautiful and seemed to last forever. Some other styles of rings come and go but the woven rings of gold are classics that defy time. The rings stayed in families and were passed down from one generation to the next generation. Each time a ring was passed on, there was always a story of how the ring was first acquired.

Since many of the rings were received as wedding rings the stories usually were very romantic and symbolized everlasting love. The story most often heard was about the design of the original woven ring. It was told that the first ring was woven with four strands of gold with each of the four strands representing one letter. The four strands stood for L.O.V.E. Therefore, the woven rings of gold quickly became associated with love and romance.

The woven rings of gold were very plain and did not have any mounted precious gems. The rings were not too expensive and were affordable to the common Lilliland worker. It was also mentioned that the woven rings usually cost less than a few days of work and yet were cherished for a lifetime of love.
